Magic Software Builds Unique Magic eMerchant-Based E-Tailing Solution for Toyo Information Systems
TISTrade Makes it Easier and More Profitable to Conduct Trade Globally
IRVINE, Calif.- (BUSINESS WIRE)- Magic Software Enterprises (Nasdaq:MGIC - news), a leading provider of state-of-the-art technology and business solutions, Tuesday announced that it has completed construction of a unique e-tailing solution for Toyo Information Systems Co. Ltd. (TIS).
Called TISTrade, the solution makes it easier and more profitable for manufacturers and retailers outside of Japan to sell to consumers in that country, as well as to identify and develop commercial partnerships with Japanese companies.
Currently, TIS is making TISTrade, which was built using Magic's award-winning, customizable e-commerce template (Magic eMerchantTM), available to customers in Great Britain through its U.K. subsidiary. However, there also is strong interest in extending the solution to support trading between other countries.
TISTrade
TISTrade is a highly sophisticated, online business-to-business and business-to-consumer solution that combines multi-lingual and multi-currency capabilities with high levels of functionality, flexibility and security.
The business-to-consumer portion of the solution enables manufacturers and merchants outside Japan to promote their products on the shopping mall and sell direct to consumers in Japan.
Because of the site's multi-lingual and multi-currency capabilities, each party to a transaction is able to interact with the site in his or her own native language and currency, making the experience much more efficient, pleasurable and successful.
In addition, TISTrade's sophisticated functionality can support any number of retail sales models that a particular supplier might choose to adopt. For example, manufacturers and retailers can establish separate price points depending upon whether sales are direct to other retailers or to the consumer.
"We wanted a solution that would provide our customers superior business-to-consumer or business-to-business functionality, in addition to multi-lingual and multi-currency capabilities," said Kevin Dukes, e-commerce manager for TIS. "Magic eMerchant provided those features, as well as gave us the platform-independence and flexibility we felt we might need to adapt the solution to future requirements."
On the business-to-business side, TISTrade makes it more profitable for the seller, and less expensive for the buyer, to transact business. It does this by streamlining existing business models.
Under the traditional method of doing business worldwide, manufacturers and retailers often have to work through several middlemen to reach the end-consumer. Typically, an agent sells to a wholesaler, who sells to a retailer, who then sells to the consumer.
To recognize all of these interests, the manufacturer or retailer is then forced to reduce profit margins while the buyer must pay a higher price to obtain the goods. However, TISTrade changes all of this. Because sales are direct to the consumer or retailer, profit margins are maintained at more competitive prices to the buyer.
"Once again, Magic has demonstrated its ability to successfully build complex Web-based solutions that meet the diverse requirements of our customers," said David Leichner, vice president of Worldwide Marketing at Magic. "And these solutions are being built within a timeframe that enables our customers to get a head start on their competition."
