Addition to Mainsoft Executive Team to Lead E-Porting Initiative
Eric Lefebvre Appointed to Vice President of Business Development
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Mainsoft Corporation, the e-porting company, today announced the appointment of Eric Lefebvre as vice president of business development. Lefebvre will be charged with leading Mainsoft's e-porting initiative, the company's market strategy designed to transform the process of application porting with pioneering web services.
"Mainsoft is already the leading provider of cross-platform solutions and we intend to extend that lead by offering porting as a Web service," said Yaacov Cohen, president of Mainsoft. "Eric Lefebvre was a natural choice to head our e-porting initiative. He combines the relevant market experience and expertise with a passion and understanding of what our customers and strategic partners are looking for from Mainsoft. We are thrilled to have him on board."
Prior to joining Mainsoft, Lefebvre served as the vice president of business development for GraphOn Corporation, a developer of web-enabling software for Windows, UNIX and Linux applications. Lefebvre established profitable global business relationships and increased the company's visibility in the marketplace and stimulated growth through the ISV community. Prior to GraphOn, Lefebvre spent eight years at Corel Corporation as director of strategic business, developing business around Java, Linux and Internet solutions. With this experience, Lefebvre brings a deep understanding of the market expansion strategy that Mainsoft is implementing with Web services for application porting.
"Mainsoft is building the next generation of cross platform technology and will be offering software vendors and IT professionals the ability to outsource their porting efforts on the Internet," said Lefebvre. "I'm pleased to be joining a company with such a compelling market advantage."
The e-Porting Company
Through its e-porting initiative, Mainsoft is redefining the way companies develop applications for multiple platforms by building the cross-platform foundation for the Internet economy. Despite robust demand for UNIX applications, the Windows API remains the software development environment of choice in the industry. Increasing numbers of large and small e-businesses require identical Windows and UNIX versions of software. Mainsoft offers products, which allow companies to solve their cross-platform requirements with their existing development talent.
Mainsoft maintains a unique relationship with Microsoft through strategic agreements that have provided Mainsoft with access to Windows source code, including Windows 2000. Mainsoft has incorporated several million lines of original Windows source code into Visual MainWin. Mainsoft also works closely with other vendors, including Sun Microsystems, Hewlett Packard, Intel and IBM, to extend the operability of applications to the UNIX platforms.
